Okay so maybe not near death, but in the process, it certainly felt as such. I was driving home from work on I-15 with my roommate Maren in the passenger seat. I had just gotten on the freeway and was staying comfortably in the far right lane. About 3 miles after getting on the freeway, a semi truck, that was travelling next to me, and in whom I was just about to pass, smacked into my front left end of my car. My car immediately swung towards the cement wall on my right and from there it was much like ping pong. I hit the semi again, which sent me back into the cement wall again. This happened for what seemed like eternity but was really only a few or several seconds. The entire time I just kept saying "What do I do? What do I do?" I felt like I had no control over my car and as you can see from the pictures, my front left tire was probably ruined after initial impact which is what made it even harder for me to steer. Luckily the cement wall and the semi truck kept me from rolling off the road or flying into other cars. As soon as my car came to a stop I was shaking from the adreniline. I was so relieved that it was finally over. I had not heard a sound from Maren the whole time, so I was relieved to see that she was conscious and well. Once we affirmed that we were both okay all worries and stress disappeared. I didn't care that my car was probably ruined forever, or that we were causing a serious traffic jam, I was just relieved we were both okay. I really didn't want to hurt my good friend Maren so I was much relieved to know she was okay. I was also happy to see the generosity of other drivers on the freeway. It wasn't seconds after we came to a stop before people came to our door to make sure we were okay. The airbags on the sides had deployed but luckily not the front ones. I had a bruise on my knee, a scratch and bruise on my wrist and Maren had a HUGE bruise on her arm from the air bag. Otherwise we walked away feeling very lucky that we didn't have any more injuries. The semi truck driver also seemed to be pretty okay. Turns out my honda is pretty tough though, as I caused enough damage to his front end that he also had to get towed. Friday evening drivers on I-15 were probably none too pleased, we caused quite the back up. Now, after only 6 months of having my car, I am on a hunt for a new a car:( Well, at least once I know how much I can spend :)

The Proposal
On Friday March 25th, at 3:10pm, 20 minutes before school got out, I was getting my students ready for math when Bryce walked into my room with a rose and a bag full of donuts. We had already decided to get married so I knew that he would propose to me at some point, but proposing to me at school was most definitely the last thing I would have ever expected. He politely introduced himself to my kindergartners (they didn’t even know I was dating someone, as if they would know what that meant anyway). One girl was raising her hand so Bryce asked if she had a question to which she simply replied “No…I was just waving at you”.
So, Bryce gets down on one knee…opens the box and inside is nothing but a folded up index card. The card had a clue that said my ring had been taken and I must find it. I was lead on a scavenger hunt through my room while my students helped me to know where to look. Finally the last clue says “stand on a chair, don’t be frustrated, it will be up there”. So I finally figured out what chair to stand on and was looking at the top of my whiteboard when one of my students said “Miss Morris—Do you see anything sparkly up there?!” And sure enough I did. I got it down and Bryce took it from me and asked me to marry him. He hugged me, then kissed me. You can imagine the response I got from a classroom full of kindergarteners: “EWWW!!” “Grossss!!!” “MISSS MORRRRISS!!!!” It was quite entertaining.
Finally, we finished off the day eating the donuts Bryce had gotten for the kids. One of my students said “ Miss Morris…does this mean we aren’t going to do math?!” “I asked “Aren’t donuts better than math?” Then one of my other girls chimed in and said “Seeing you kiss was better than donuts AND math!”
Normally I would be opposed to a public proposal but it was quite entertaining to do it with my kids. It was fun that they could be a part of it. After he proposed though, there were definitely some misconceptions. A lot of my students thought I had gotten married. I had to explain to them that I was not married but some day I would Mrs. Pinder. To which one student said “Miss Morris! I don’t want you to get married!!” I asked “Why?” “Because…I don’t like that name!”
That evening, Bryce took me to The Roof restaurant on top of the Joseph Smith Building that overlooks the temple. It was FANTASTIC. Everything about the proposal was perfect. And now I get wear the most beautiful ring and marry the most perfect man.
I am awful at blogging... especially putting pictures up so the pictures are actually in backwards order. Hope you can figure it out!

GOOD NEWS!
Every day during calendar I have the students tell me "good news". This is sometimes my favorite part of the day because kids just get to talk. Here is some good news that my kids have shared with me.
"The plumber is coming today because my mom's toilet is leaking."
"I have to take a bath today"
"My dog died" "Really?" "Yeah....a long time ago"
In March: "It is almost my birthday" "Oh how fun! When is it?" "In June"
(Next Day, same little boy.) "My birthday is tomorrow!" "I thought your birthday was in June" "It is!" "But it is only March" ".....oh".
"My tooth is wiggly!!!" ...I have at least one student tell me that every day.
"My elbow will be better on Friday"
"I came out of my mom riding a little red tricycle!"
"When you were born?"
"Yeah...and I looked up and smiled at her."
I have very positive students if all of these qualify as "good news" :)

Oh hello!
Hello Again,
Remember how I used to blog? Yeah that was good times and I almost managed to make it a whole entire year without one blog post!!! When I got a job teaching I went private because I thought it was required. So since I went private I didn't think it was worth it to post. BUUUUT I don't think it needs to be private so I AM BACK! Probably the only one that reads this is me.
UPDATE: I teach 60 Kindergartners. (Don't worry, not all at once). They are my kids. I love them AND they drive me crazy. Here are some funny things that they have said. Please enjoy:
"I watched the movie "Elf" on Sunday" -me
After much thought one of my students said:
"Miss Morris......elf is not a church movie"
I was drawing a flashlight on the board when one of my students said
"wooooaaaahhh.....hers draws a good flashlight"
Last week I left notes in my classroom from a "leprechaun" for St. Patrick's day. It was hilarious because anytime anything in the class was out of place my students would say "the leperchaun did it!" "that leprechaun is so tricky!" One of my students told me that there were some dice under the bookshelf. I asked him if he could get them out for me. Later I walked by while he was laying on the ground reaching his arm as far as he could. While grimacing he says "man....that leprechaun is gooood!"
During writing I had a girl who was writing a story that said "I fell when I was walking to school". She told me what her story was and I helped her with the first part. I left then came back a few minutes later. When I came back her story said "I fell when a shark bit me". I said "I thought your story was you fell when you were walking to school" to which she responded "It was, but then I accidentally wrote an 's' " What a simple solution!
"Miss Morris my grandma is here to pick me up!!!" -student
"Oh how fun! Is it your mom's mom, or your dad's mom?"-me
"hahaha No Miss Morris...it's my grandma!!" -student
Student shoots a wadded up piece of paper into the trash. "Wow, nice shot. You made a bank shot" -me "Bank shot?" -student "Yeah bank shot, when you shoot it off the wall."-me " OHHH YEAH! Bank shot is my favorite word!" -student
GOOD TIMES IN THE KINDERGARTEN CLASSROOM. Next time I will post other happenings in my life with pictures. Be excited.

Graduation!
It's official. I am a college graduate. I have really enjoyed the past couple of days with my family and the graduation festivities. I think the weirdest moment for me was during my college graduation as I was sitting there and the ceremony was just beginning. It suddenly hit me that my days at BYU are over. I got pretty sad thinking about that. Ever since I was little wanted to go to BYU and I worked so hard in high school to get good enough grades to get there. I remember when I got accepted to BYU being so relieved and happy. My first lifetime goal was realized when I read that acceptance letter.
BYU was everything I dreamed of. I loved the things I learned, the experiences I had, the place I worked and the people I met along the way. I'm excited for upcoming future adventures but will certainly miss my days at BYU. Here are some pictures from Graduation thanks to Becky Jean. She was so nice to come to both ceremonies and take pictures too.

ASSASSIN
According to Dave this is breaking some serious blogging rules because I have no pictures, just words. But I felt the need to share my journey in the game of assassin. Mostly so I would never forget the whole experience :)
In my ward at BYU we played a game called assassin. If you signed up you were given a name of somebody in the ward. You had 72 hours to shoot this person with a water gun to eliminate them...if you didn't then you would be eliminated. My complex was safe..outside and in, but the parking lot was free game.
I got my first name: Natauscha. She lived in a stairwell down from my old apartment. Because my old roommates are great, I decided to stake out in their apartment for hours waiting for her to go to her car. Her roommate told me what kind of car she drove so I just watched, for hours, waiting for her to get home. I went to my brother's tennis match then came home and her car still wasn't there. I showed my parents my apartment then when I came back...her car was there! I was so mad, I thought I had missed her. I sauntered back into my old apartment totally depressed that I had failed. While standing there, talking to my roommates, I saw her head back to her car. I grabbed my gun and chased her down! First victim.
My next name was Maren...my roommate! When I got home that night I told my roommates that I didn't get Natauscha. Turns out Jerika had me. So I had to seriously lie to her. When I went to school the next morning, I hid her gun in the kitchen drawer then booked it out the door. Whew. I got Maren that night in the parking lot. Then I got my next person inside his class. Jacob. 3 victims down.
My next two kills I got them on their way to class and inside class. One was Sarah...she was really mad that after I shot her, she squirted me in the face a few times. Oh well :)
Friday night I was on the defense. I went to the ward talent show, which is safe, but going to and from the talent show is not safe. I parked on the south side of the wilk and was a little late because I had gone to dinner with my family. After the talent show, all 10 remaining people left in the game were there...it was intense. I saw that this one guy in my ward was following my every move, I knew that he had been hired to stalk me. I walked with Maren to get a drink and decided I needed to make a getaway. I booked it down the stairs and ran and hid in the BYU bowling alley. I got a call from Maren. "Camille...you have to RUN!! They are ALL running after you!" I felt pretty safe hidden in the bowling alley but knew I had to move fast. I ran down the hall and up a hidden stairwell that comes out at the cougareat. I made a mad dash for the car. Maren called me and asked if I wanted her to pick me up. We met at an elementary school and I got in Jerika's car while Maren got in my car to drive it home. We pulled into our complex and someone saw me in the car. I decided to make a mad dash for it anyway. I ran from my car to the quad and Meghan (who had me) came towards me with a huge gun. Luckily she wasn't quite in range and I made it onto safe ground. Whew.
I got my next victim Sunday night when he came home to go home teaching. I got him right at his car about 5 minutes before my time expired. It was a miracle. Then it was down to Tommy, Dan and I. Tommy and Dan had had a pact the whole game. Dan had Tommy but had made a truce not to kill him so that they could be the final two. Well, I killed Dan on Monday after his class. Not killed, sorry, shot with a water gun. I wore a hat and held a notebook in front of my face...pretty good disguise.
My good brother Dave came with me to get Tommy outside his class. We waited, and waited. Then a girl came around the corner and saw me standing there with a bright green squirt gun. Dave and I knew that she was working for Tommy. We then proceeded to run around the Tanner building. Up and Down, Up and Down. Thank goodness Dave was there because I would have gotten lost like 18 times if I was on my own. I also saw that Dan was there. Then, we came around a corner and saw Tommy. This was the most intense moment of the game. I was hiding behind Dave and I said "Dave, that's Tommy...RUN!" And that's just what we did. We ran from the bottom floor of the Tanner building to the top. Then back down the elevator (I guess as a decoy...thought I was going to die because I have never climbed stairs that fast in my life). I escaped and Dave stayed to distract them.
I was then unsure how I would ever get Tommy. The next day at school Tommy kept texting me his schedule. He was hoping I would come try to get him and he would just get me first. Tuesday night I was exhausted and needed to get some stuff done since all I had done the previous week was play this stupid game. Suddenly I got a text message that said "Tommy is at Gold's Gym right now". I decided to give it one more try. Maren, Jerika and I hopped in Dave's truck and drove to Gold's gym. It was quite comical to have the three of us trying to decide what the best tactic would be for the kill. We ended up parking two spots away from his car and ducking down in the cab of the truck. (It was about 8:30 at night). We waited and waited. Then him and his two friends came out and were walking to his car. I shot threw the small window in the back of the truck and.....VICTORY! I got him. A small little splash on the arm. It was so wonderful to have the game over and to be victorious.
I'd like to thank all those that helped me reach my victory. Maren and Jerika for putting up with nonstop talking about the game, then coming along as my accomplices for my final kill. Dave for letting me use his truck, sleep at his place at 6 in the morning, and for leading me through the Tanner building. Kim for telling me that Tommy was at Gold's gym. Joe for telling me that Tommy was going to follow me to school in which case I decided to drive to my sister's and sleep at her place. Becky for letting me come sleep at her place :) And all others who rooted for me along the way. This was quite possibly one of the greatest successes of my life :)

2010 Intramural Champions!!
February 23, 2010 I succeeded in winning my second Intramural Champion T-Shirt--this time with Dave. I choose my teammates well :) David and I have never played tennis together except for maybe one Morris Family Tennis tournament. We decided to sign up for intramurals and give it a try. Turns out Dave isn't so bad at tennis. We pretty much dominated throughout the tournament and met our toughest competitors last week beating them only 8-5. Since the tournament is double elimiation we met them again in the finals. For a week I worried about this match. Turns out there was nothing to worry about. It was a fun match and we came out victorious beating our opponents 8-3. It was a lot of fun and we had a good fan support there too :) Enjoy the pictures and just remember, my legs haven't seen the sun for 2 years so give me break! :)
